HECK, CARL E. 
Carl E. Heck, 95, a native of Brusly and a resident of Thibodaux for more
than 50 years, died Sunday, July 23, 2006. Visitation at St. Joseph
Co-Cathedral, Thibodaux, on Tuesday, July 25, from 1 p.m. until religious
service at 2 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Verna Mae Talbot Heck;
daughter, Susan Heck Schwab of Houma and husband Jerry Schwab; two sons,
Carl E. Heck Jr. of Houma and wife Amelia and David T. Heck of Thibodaux
and wife Anita; two sisters, Lilla May Moreau Bennett and Virgie Heck, both
of Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Henry J.B. Heck and Hortense Dupont Heck,
who were of Brusly; three sisters, Elsie Olinde, who was of New Roads,
Julia Cassidy, who was of Baton Rouge, and Ollie Sheffield, who was of
Kentwood; and three brothers, Harold Heck, who was of Baton Rouge, Berlin
Heck, who was of Calhoun, and Herman Heck, who was of Thibodaux. He
received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from LSU at the
age of 20 in 1931. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers during World War II. He was the first licensed civil engineer in
Lafourche Parish and was a consulting engineer since 1949. He located and
marked the location of the first offshore oil well in the Gulf of Mexico.
He formed and was the first president of the Bayou Chapter of the Louisiana
Engineering Society in Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption and St. Mary
parishes. He was a past grand marshal of the Thibodaux Fireman's Fair and a
past director of Citizens Bank and Trust of Thibodaux.

HECK, MARIE STANGE 
Marie Stange Heck, 90, a native of Victoria, Texas, and a resident of
Hammond for the past eight years, died on Saturday July 1, 2006, at 
4:35 p.m.  Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Heck. Mother of Sharon Roeling.
Daughter of the late Amelia Scharr and Emile Stange. Sister of Lawrence
Stange and the late Raymond Stange. Grandmother of Jill Moreau, Michael,
Brian, Clinton, and Drew Cosentino. Great-grandmother of Lillian and Claire
Cosentino and Roman Moreau. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Relatives and
friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from
Leitz- Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd. near Clearview on
Friday morning July 7, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.  Interment in Hope Mausoleum
