He was a native of Maud, Okla., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Southeastern Louisiana University having served as treasurer and auditor. He was a member and deacon of Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond. He is survived by two daughters, Margaret "Teeter" H. Mauldin of Deland, Fla., Patricia H. Poyner of Wheaton, Ill.; one sister, Marguerite Hallum of Hammond; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Poole Hallum; one sister, Velda Hallum; and his parents, Richard Patrick and Mary Clark Hallum. Visitation will be Friday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 until 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Leon Dunn will conduct the funeral Saturday at Woodland Park Baptist Church, Hammond, at 11. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. ***************************************************************************
