Charles Davis Gibson Sr, 90 years old of Hammond, La., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at his residence. He was born on Monday, Sept. 5, 1921, in Ponchatoula, La., son of the late Charles Daniel Gibson and the late Anne Olivia Davis Gibson. He proudly served in U.S. Army during World War II and Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Major. After retiring from Cargill Industry he served as the director of the Tangipahoa Industrial Development Board. He was a Charter member and deacon of Immanuel Baptist Church. Surviving are wife of 69 years, Frances Wainwright Gibson, daughter & son-in-law, Pat and Barry Stevens, daughter & son-in-law, Sue and Richard Fairchild, son & daughter-in-law, Charlie and Rhonda Gibson Jr., grandchildren, Scott Stevens, Laura Beccera, Dawn Fabre, Beau Gibson, and Sarah DePaula, great-grandchildren, Annie, Will, Alex, Jordyn, Brady, Jacob, Larson, Laine, Nathan, Megan, and Arabella, brothers, Alvin Gibson and George Gibson.
