Entombment in Rose Memorial Mausoleum, Hammond. He was 89. Visitation at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Joe Camilleri. Interment in Rose Memorial Park, Hammond. He is survived by his wife, Pamela LaRocca Gaeta, Amite; two daughters, Mary G. Melvin, Amite, and Geri G. Mayeaux, Hammond; two sons, Joe V. Gaeta Sr., Amite, and John C. Gaeta, Albany; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Theresa Distefano, Independence, Rose Costanza, Hammond, and Mary Schmitt, Harahan; and two brothers, Joe Schillage, Amite, and Frank Schillage, Dallas. Preceded in death by his son, Angelo Gaeta; grandson, Brandon Mayeaux; two brothers, Tony Gaeta and Mike Gaeta; and parents, Angelo Gaeta and Catherine Gaeta Schillage. He was a lifelong member of St. Helena Catholic Church and a member of the Civitan Club and Holy Name Society.
