She was 61 and a native of Independence. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Saturday, June 12, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Stanley Plain. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by four daughters, Tassine Anderson, Charlotte Cryer, Shannonne Cryer and Cassandra Favre, all of Baton Rouge; two sons, Jerry Cryer and Mack Cryer Jr., both of Baton Rouge; five sisters, Shirley Anderson, Audre Lee, Mamie Anderson, Charolette Anderson and Bertha Stewart; a brother, Joseph Anderson; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a son, Boyd C. Favre. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 11/26/2009 FAVRE, WILLARD A. Willard A. Favre died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at age 79. A descendant of several well-known Colonial Gulf Coast families and a native of Logtown, Miss., he attended Jesuit High School and graduated from S.J. Peters High School, both in New Orleans. He held a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southwestern Louisiana Institute, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, the Newman Club and the Accounting Club, having served as president of that organization. He was a veteran of the Korean War with prior service in the Louisiana National Guard. Favre was a career employee of the Louisiana Governor's Office of the Division of Administration. He retired in 1987 as director of state accounting. He devoted much of his time to Boy Scouts of America Troop 108 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. An enthusiastic hunter and fisherman, he was a past member of Bay Tree Hunting Club. He was an avid genealogist and student of history, preserving his family's history in two books containing the family genealogy and many anecdotes on growing up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A devoted and exemplary husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Elaine Bellard, of Church Point; son, Willard A. Favre Jr.; three daughters, Alexandra Smith and her husband, Lee, Rebecca Lipe and her husband, Larry, and AnnKatherine Watkins and her husband, Perrin, all of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Lorraine Favre, of Hammond, Wallis and Desirée Watkins and Pierson Smith, all of Baton Rouge; and stepgrandson, Jason Palmer, of Baton Rouge. Also surviving are his brother, Otis W. Favre, and sister-in-law, Margaret, of Slidell; nephews, Otis Jr. and Ford Favre, of Slidell; niece, Stacy F. Pellerin, of New Orleans; five great- nephews, four great-nieces and a great-great-nephew. The visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Nov. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Friday at 1 p.m. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Chad Favre, Clint Favre, Cody Favre, Chase Favre, Lee Ward Bellard and Paul Bellard. Coleen Favre will serve as cantor. Preceded in death by his parents, William Christian Favre and Nellie Thompson Favre. He was a member of St. Thomas More Parish.
