She was 70 and a native of St. Helena Parish. Visiting was at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the funeral home, 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday. conducted by the Rev. Vernon Wolfe. Interment in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery, Arcola. Survived by two daughters, Carol Ryan Treigle, Zachary, and Nancy Patricia Ryan Chapman, New Iberia; two sons, Edwin K. Ensign III, Roseland, and Matthew Edwin Ensign, Hillsdale; three sisters, Betty Ricks, Tangipahoa, and Eva Barcia and Angie Miller, both of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Edwin K. "Buster" Ensign Jr.; a grandson, Robert Wade Higgins; parents, Maurice Cohn and Cora Jackson Miller; and a sister, Mary Alma Brown.
