Mrs. S. L. Egnew, 92, died Saturday. Interment Sunday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by son, Sidney, and daughter, Mrs. Minnie Matthews. [From same edition, p. 1, col. 7: Mrs. Cynthia M. Egnew, 92, was born 14 July 1839 in Charon Center, PA; taught school in Indiana; married 9 Apr 1869 Andrew M. Egnew; moved to Iowa in 1891 moved to Hammond. Mr. Egnew died in 1911, he is also buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Minnie R. Matthews, and son, Sidney L. He was 66, born March 30, 1944, in Ponchatoula. Mr. Robert was a graduate of Ponchatoula High School and Southeastern Louisiana University and later retired from the Louisiana Department of Health with more than 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Judy Hyde Egnew, Chesbrough; son, Kevin Egnew, Dallas; sister, Joyce Kupper and her husband, Killian, Ponchatoula; two brothers, Andrew Arnold Egnew III and his wife, Theta, Slidell, and Emmett Egnew and his wife, Nancy, Ponchatoula; aunt, Madeline Poche, Ponchatoula; mother-in-law, Ethel Hyde, Chesbrough; sister-in-law, Melanie Rick and her husband, Anthony, Amite; brother-in-law, Claude Hyde, Jr. and his wife, Sherry, Caledonia, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Andrew Arnold Egnew Jr. and Anna Mercier Egnew; and father-in-law, Claude Hyde Sr. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on Sunday, Dec. 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 13, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m., conducted by Deacon Michael Agnello.
