EAST, ERMA WILLIAMS 
A retired nurse's assistant and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 11:30 p.m. 
Monday, March 27, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 
67 and a native of Amite. Visiting at Gloryland Baptist Church, 2575 Michelli 
Drive, from 4 p.m. Sunday until religious services at 6 p.m., conducted by the 
Rev. Rayford T. Iglehart. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Monday. Survived by her companion, 
Donald Ray Thomas; two daughters, Delores McClay and Cynthia Green; a son, Frank 
East Jr.; a sister, Patricia Banks; a brother, Oliver Banks; five grandchildren 
and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Irene 
Banks. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

EAST, LADARIUS 
Montpelier - Ladarius East, 4, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, in St. Helena Parish 
as the result of an automobile accident. He was a student at St. Helena Head 
Start and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Montpelier. He is survived by 
his mother and stepfather, Cassandra and Tom Ricard of Montpelier; his father, 
Derrick Travis of Montpelier; a brother, Tyrell Ricard of Montpelier; his 
maternal grandparents, Lionel and Betty East of Montpelier; his paternal grand-
mother, Leathy Matthews of Montpelier; his paternal grandfather, L.K. Travis of 
Montpelier; his maternal great-grandparents, J.W. and Hester Perry of Pine 
Grove; and his paternal great-grandmother, Mattie East of Montpelier. Visitation 
will be Friday at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Hammond, Denham Springs, 
from 1 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Estelle Littlejohn will conduct the funeral Saturday 
at Claiborne AME Zion Church, Pine Grove at noon. Burial will be in Mount Zion 
Church Cemetery, Montpelier.

EAST, RONALD JAMES "RON" 
A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Ponchatoula, he died Monday, Oct.
30, 2006. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dana and
Richard Matens, Erin and Todd Conti, and Ronell East Johnson; as well as
three grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Matens, James Warren Matens and George
Fletcher Johnson. He is also survived by his mother, Lila Tullier
Villneuve; a sister, Gayle East Burkett; a brother and sister-in-law,
Bertha and Preston East; a sister-in-law, Nancy Robertson East; and a good
friend, Dottie Womack. Preceded in death by his father, Preston Castle
East; and brother, Richard Wiley East. Visitation will be at St. Pius
Catholic Church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until at 11 a.m. Interment in
Roselawn Cemetery.
