She was born on April 11, 1938, in New Orleans, daughter of the late Troy Luke and Alice Cecile Decoteau Duplessis. She was a retired purser from Lykes Brothers Steamship Co. Surviving are her four sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Ruth) Ourso, Joan Duplessis, Mrs. Dillion (Ann) Prine and Mrs. Willie (Lois) Freeman; brother, Troy Luke Duplessis Jr.; dear friend, Sheila Murphy; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, on Thursday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Justin Kauchak, O.P., officiating. Interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. He was a native of Gonzales and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of St. Joseph Usher Society and worked as a machinist for Kaiser Aluminum. He is survived by his wife, Enola Martin Duplessis of Paulina; three daughters, Patricia Vicknair of Prairieville, Elaine Landry of Ponchatoula, and Brenda Louque of Grand Point; one sister, Doris Braud of Gramercy; two brothers, Holden "Pip" and Harvey Duplessis, both of Gonzales; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sedorise and Martine Braud Duplessis; two sisters, Velma Duplessis and Selma Bercegay; and one infant brother, Elgin Duplessis. Visitation will be Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Home, Lutcher, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Frank Uter will conduct the funeral at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, at 10. Burial will be in the church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Comprehensive Hospice Care of Donaldsonville or St. James Cancer Service. H.C.
