He was a native of Birllant, Ala., and a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his mother, Gladys C. Dodd of Albany; three sisters, Mary Gainey, Sinda Olah and Sherran Rusk, all of Albany; two brothers, Alvin G. Dodd of Chalmette and Jimmy R. Dodd of Picayune, Miss.; one half-brother, A.J. Dodd of Hatfield, Ark.; and one half-sister, Bobby Attanoch of Albuquerque, N.M. He was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and three half-brothers. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 10, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Addison. Burial will be in Hungarian Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Albany. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 11/27/2001 DODD, GLADYS ESTELLE Albany - Gladys Estelle Dodd, 93, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at North Oaks Medical Center. She was a long-time supporter of the Presbyterian Church in Albany. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Gainey and Sinda Olah, both of Albany, and Sharon Rusk of Prairieville; two sons, Jimmy Dodd of Mississippi and Alvin Dodd of Chalmette; a stepdaughter, Bobbie Cattanach of New Mexico; a stepson, Allen Jeffrey Dodd of Arkansas, 28 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman C. Dodd; two daughters, Juanita Dodd and Frieda Harrison; two brothers, Braxton and Rubel Dodd; and four stepsons, Willie, Veno, Lacy and Red Dodd. Visitation is at Geisler Funeral Home in Albany today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m. The Rev. Stephen Sanders and the Rev. Alton Foster will conduct the service, and burial will be in the Hungarian Presbyterian Cemetery. ***************************************************************************
