He was 49, a native of Independence and a resident of Loranger. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on Thursday, April 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Friday from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Interment in Lawrence Memorial Gardens, Loranger. He is survived by his wife, Connie Poolson Burnthorn, Loranger; daughter, Chelsea Brooke Burnthorn, Loranger; three sisters, Shirland Smith and husband Ken, Denham Springs, Brenda McNeal, Maurepas, and Lanell Sanders and friend Tom Jacocks, Zachary; mother, Dorothy Rodriguez Burnthorn, Loranger; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Luke Burnthorn; and stepfather, Tim Burnthorn. He will be sadly missed by his family and many, many friends. She was a resident of Belle Maison Nursing Home. She is survived by sons, Ronnie Burthorn of Hammond, and Gary Burthorn of California; daughter, Jackie Baker of Covington; and 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her parents, three sisters and five brothers, preceded her in death. Family visitation will be Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Live Oak Missionary Church, Folsom, and will continue from 10 until the funeral at noon.
