She was a resident of Denham Springs, but called Amite her home. She was a longtime salesperson for Stanley Home Products. She touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her and will be sadly missed by her son and his wife, Billy and Betty Amacker, Denham Springs; and three grandchildren and spouses, Duane and Debbie King Amacker, Denham Springs, Cindy Amacker Poché and John Poché, Hammond, and Rebekah Amacker Cambre and Michael Cambre, Prairieville. Her fond memory will be cherished by her great-grandchildren, Kyle Duane Amacker, Baton Rouge, Emily, Lauren and Sarah Catherine Poché, Hammond; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Justin King, Abita Springs, and Wesley King, Florida. Mrs. Amacker was 89 years old and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Hollis Aaron Amacker; parents, Harvey and Birdie Westmoreland Smith; three brothers, Herman Smith, Norman Smith and A.B. Smith; and four sisters, Lala Bell Graves, Dollie Ridgedell, Rosa Lee Kimble and Eddie Lee Haley. Visitation will be Monday, May 23, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite. Interment in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery.
