Alpheus E. Ainsworth Jr., 69, Baton Rouge, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, Baton Rouge. He was a native of Terry, Miss., a U.S. Army sergeant veteran of the Korean conflict and retired after 36 years from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 390 of Port Arthur, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mavis Marteen McGregor Ainsworth of Baton Rouge; one sister, Toffie Ainsworth Smith of Greensburg; and one brother, William Ainsworth of Mount Vernon, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.E. Sr. and Cassie Venable Ainsworth; one sister, Loraine Ainsworth Headrick; and one brother, George B. Ainsworth. Visitation will be today at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the Rev. William Sewell conducts the funeral at 11.
