Smith Power of Attorney Recorded 25th June 1836 Know all men by the presents that I, Robert E. Smith of the State of Louisiana & Parish of St. Landry have constituted & appointed & do by these presents constitute and appoint John F. Smith of the same State & City of New Orleans my lawful attorney to transact any & all business for me & in my name in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia hereby ratifying & confirming all & any acts that he may execute in my name or in his own name in my behalf in said State and District--And I also give & empower the said John F. Smith to substitute any individual that he may think proper, in said State & District, to act in his stead and in my behalf.
