Be it remembered, That on this day to wit: the Fifth of October in 
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty one and 
the eighty fifth of the Independance of the United States of America, 
before me Pierre Lacoste, duly commissioned and sworn recorder of Births 
and Deaths, in and for the Parish and City of Orleans personally appeared: 

Mr Juan Careras a native of Spain aged about twenty four years now residing 
Corner Claiborne & Frenchmen streets. Who hereby declares that on the tenth 
of April Eighteen hundred & fifty-nine (10th April 1859) was born in this city, 
a male child named 

		PIERRE CARERAS

Legitimate issue of deponents marriage with Catherine Schwabb native of New Orleans.  
Thus done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Juan Careras as also in that 
of Messrs. L.L. Garie? and T. H. Garie? both of this city, witnesses by me requested 
so to be, who have hereunto set their hands together with me after due reading hereof,
