Date: February 27, 1964 Headline: Mrs. Cassie Ellen Fairbanks Succumbs, Services Are Held Mrs. Cassie Ellen Fairbanks, a resident of Jena since 1921, died Wednesday, Feb. 19 at approximately 3:30 a.m. at her residence. She was 87 years of age. Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Temple Baptist Church with the Revs. S. B. Spinks and K. G. Brooks officiating. Burial was in Wilbanks Cemetery of Summerville under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ceola Kennon of Trout and Mrs. Mary Tarver of Jena; two sons, Rodell Fairbanks of Ponchatoula and Guy Fairbanks of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Elzie Husbands of Harrisonburg; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Kirl of West Columbia, Texas; 21 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. Fairbanks, 79, of Wildsville, died at the Catahoula Parish Hospital last Thursday, January 17, 1974. He was a retired farmer, deacon of Evangeline Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. Funeral services were held at Evangeline Baptist Church of Wildsville at 11 a.m. Saturday with Revs. Willard Sandifer, J. O. McNair, and S. B. Spinks officiating. Interment followed in Evangeline Cemetery of Wildsville under arrangements by Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Fairbanks, 68, truck farmer of Harrisonburg, who died at the Huey P. Long Hospital in Pineville of paralysis September 17, at 11 a.m., were held September 18 at the family residence at 3 p.m., with Rev. J. T. Mayo officiating. Interment was made at the Fairbanks Cemetery near Harrisonburg under the direction of Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena. Falkner, 56, father of Mrs. Earl Honeycutt, of Jena, and employed as bookkeeper at the State Colony and Training School near Pineville, died at the Baptist Hospital Friday night. Rev. A. K. Smith, of Alexandria officiated at the funeral which was held at the Jena Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The deceased was buried in the Nolly Memorial Cemetery in Jena. The deceased is survived by his wife, of Alexandria, his daughter, Mrs. Earl Honeycutt of Jena, and a son, Roderick Falkner of Alexandria. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. J. J. Montague of Clifton, Tenn., and two brothers, J. B. A veteran of World War II, he was awarded the bronze star in the was, was a member of VFW Post 5002 and was post commander in 1986-1987. He was a member of the Selma Baptist Church of Georgetown and was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. Microfilm at the LaSalle Parish Library located in Jena, LaSalle Parish, La. Date: December 20, 1956, Thursday Headline: C. F. Farrar Dies at Lismore Plantation C. F. Farrar, 76, a prominent Jonesville real estate broker, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, of a heart attack on one of his plantations at Lismore. Funeral services were held on Dec. 12 at the Jonesville Methodist Church, of which he was a long and faithful member. The Rev. L. G. Williams conducted the final rites, with interment following in Fayette, Miss. Masonic services were held at the graveside. A resident of Jonesville for the past 40 years, he had been a merchant and plantation owner before entering the real estate brokerage business. He still had extensive plantation holdings at the time of his death. Box 219 Trout, La. 71371 Submitted: December 1998 Source: The Jena Times - Olla Tullos Signal; Date: Wednesday, October 14, 1998 Ricky Lee Fatheree Ricky Lee Fatheree, 43, of Holum, died last Friday, October 9, 1998, while on the job near Tullos. He worked in the oilfield industry for 26 years and was working as a roughneck at the time of his death. During his time in the oilfield he was employed for Harter Oil Company for 12 years. While on the job last Friday, Fatheree fell and LaSalle Parish Sheriff deputies and medical emergency personnel were summoned to the scene. He died before he could be moved and LaSalle Parish Coroner Dr. I. C. Turnley, Jr., was called to the scene. Dr. Turnley ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death and Fatheree's body was sent to Bossier City. Fatheree, son of Jessie "Pete" and Lucille Dampier Fatheree, was born September 23, 1955 in Monroe. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with the Revs. Bobby Cruse and Mike Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Star Cemetery at Holum under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Survivors include his wife, Faye Sikes Fatheree of Holum; one step-son, benjamin Lowell Randall of Olla; one daughter, Rikki Leann Fatheree of Holum; his mother, Lucille Dampier Fatheree of Jena; one brother, Billy Wayne Fatheree of Olla; four sisters, Carol Thompson of Monroe, Eva Horn of Atlanta, Ga., Alice MaeShelton of Granbury, Tx. And Joe Ann Lewis of Monroe.
