Interment will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife,Karen Callahan Besson, two children, Buffy and Hannah Besson; a brother, Nelson Besson, and sisters Betty Cavalier, Grace Thibodaux and Beverly Bourgeois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marguerite Fremin Besson. She is survived by a son, Beldren Domangue; a daughter, Lois Rita Thibodaux; a sister, Leona Bourgeois; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teles Domangue; a son, Ildon Domangue; a daughter, Jane Baudoin; and sisters, Clotel Marcel, Helen Duplantis, Verna Bouquet and Odeal Naquin. Interment was to be in the church cemetery. He was the husband of Irene Pierce Matherne3; father of Wayne J. Matherne of Vancouver, Canada, Mrs. Tomy (Iris)Doucet of Galliano; the brother of Mrs. Guy (Bernice)Ordoyne, Eroy Matherne, Mrs. C.J.(Lorella) Rodrigue, Euris Matherne and Weldon Matherne, all of Larose,Mrs. Jimmy (Rosalie)Ledet of Bayou Blue and Mrs. James Matherne of Cut Off. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs Emeluse Matherne; and one grandchild. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. He was the husband of Bettie Theriot Stevens; the father of David (Sharon) Gaauthe, Mrs. Roland (Tanya) Dufrene Jr., Mrs. Dickie (Vicky) Babin, Mrs. Matt (Suzanne) Rodrigue and Michael Stevens; and the brother of Mrs. Gillis (Gladys) LeBlanc, Mrs. Cicile Verret Constance, Mrs. Vivian Lecompte Malone, Mrs.Greta Boudreaux, and Austin "Bozo", Dudley and Richard Stevens. He is also survived by ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Elson (Ces) Stevens; and his parents, Horace and Victoria Bourgeois Stevens.
