Mr. S. O. Bayne passed away Monday, January 30 t 1:30 A.M. after a
lengthy illness. He was well known in Jackson parish where he was
principal of schools for a number of years. After retiring he lived
in Calvin, until five years ago when his health became so poor he
went to live with his daughter in California. The deceased is
survived by his wife, Mrs. S. O. Bayne, and one daughter, Mrs. S. L.
Chandler both of California and two brothers, Walter Bayne, Ruston,
and Irman Bayne, New Iberia, La. He also leaves a host of friends
