                   Mansfield Female College Alumni 
  
          The Mansfield Female College offered higher education for 
young ladies (and preparatory courses for some even younger gentlemen) 
from the early 1850's until the College was closed in 1930. Such few 
of their names as are known are listed below. You are invited to 
submit names for this list. 

"These mothers of Israel lived to see the Infant College, located on 
the frontier, by ragged citizens, grow to be one of the grand institutions 
of the nations, and its graduating class grow from three or four, until 
they are numbered by the dozen each year."
