THOMAS BOAZ (1721-1791) by Elsie Irene David (Mrs. Louis) Weaks Thomas Boaz was born in Scotland in 1721, and died at Pittsylvania County, Virginia, in 1791. According to records in the book, "Thomas Boaz Family in America", by Bishop Hiram A. Boaz. Thomas Boaz received a favorable reply to his request to Governor Booch in 1737 to settle in the Valley of Virginia. He was to old to flight in the Revolutionary War, but was appointed Surveyors of Roads and took the Oath of Allegiance. The DAR magazine of March 1930, lists Thomas Boaz as a Pittsylvania County Patriot.
