Her son, Corp Ed McCUBBINS was called home from somewhere in Massachussetts on account of her illness. Funeral will be at the home Jan. 18th and interrment at Lebanon Junction Cemetery. She is survived bty her husband Mr Henry McCUBBINS, one son, Edward McCUBBINS,one daughter, Mrs Willard MATTINGLY, and one granddaughter. Loved ones have our sympathy. Mr Bud MASDEN came home from Norton Infirmary Jan 17th, where he had undergone an operation is reported to be doing as well as expected. Mr Roy JENKINS who has worked for L&N RR Co. for many years in Ravena, Ky has been transferred to Montgomery, Ala. Wife of Mr JENKINS was Miss Bessie CARPENTER, who was one of our hometown girls. We hope them much success in their change. The D. MILLER family had the chance to talk to their son and Grandson, F-1c in Philadelphia, Pa, Sunday Jan 16. Chas. has been promoted twice lately. He reports that he likes the Navy just fine. Mrs. M.C. WARD and Mrs Emma SNELLEN returned to Louisville Sunday after a visit to Mrs Bettie MILLER and son Emmett. Miss Frances Lee RAINEY and Mr Ike DURHAM were united in marriage Saturday, Jan 8th at the Methidist Church here. Rev SULLIVAN, pastor of this church, officiated. Miss Rainey is daughter of Mrs Pearl RAINEY of this place, and Mr Durham is the son of Mr and Mrs George Durham of Louisville, but lived here many years before going to Louisville. They have many friends who hope them many years of happiness. Mrs Leona COLEMAN has recently heard from her son Billie, and he is getting along alright.
