Born March 7, 1939, in Matoaka, W.Va., he was the son of the late Dewey B. Bailey and Margaret Marasco. He was retired from Washinton Post, and was a member of Masonic Murray Lodge #175, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and Matthew Fontaine Maury Camp #1722. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Bailey, Spotsylvania, Va.; four sons, Charles W. Bailey, Charles R. Bailey, Duane Cox, and Walter L. Cox, all of Spotsylvania; one daughter, Ruth Henderson, Spotsylvania; three sisters, Eleanor Hunter, Charlestown, W.Va., Shirley Moffett, Midland, Va., and Sherry Chittum, Spotsylvania; six brothers, Dave Bailey, Woodbridge, Va., Gary Bailey, Culpeper, Va., Donald Bailey, St. Petersburg, Fla., Jimmy Bailey, Green Springs, W. Va., Robert Bailey, Charlotte, N.C., Ricky Bailey, Lashmeet, W. Va.; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Mullins & Thompson Spotsylvania Chapel with the Rev. Jim Cunningham presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today at Mullins & Thompson Spotsylvania Chapel, Spotsylvania, Va. Memorials are suggested to Masonic Murray Lodge #175, 4509 Fredericks Hall, Mineral, VA 23117.
