Colonel Amidon was graduated in 1882 from the Geneva Normal School, and later attended Oberlin and Hiram Colleges. He is a charter member of the Wichita Club, a member of the Country Club, a Mason, Shriner and National Democratic committeeman from Kansas. He is vice-chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Colonel Amidon, who is the senior member of Amidon, Buckland, Hart and Porter, has the best private law library in the state of Kansas. She is a Twentieth Century Club member; president of the High School Parent-Teacher Association and president of the Cathedral Parent- Teacher Association. Her especial interests are in the Cathedral parish, and in the study of vocal and piano music. Dr. Basham spent two years in a Paris hospital. He reads, writes and speaks four languages, and possesses one of the best libraries in the United States. He is a member of the Wichita Club, Press Club, is a Mason, Chief of Staff at the St. Francis hospital, a member of the American College of Surgeons, and of the Board of Governors of the State of Kansas. The six young sons of Dr. and Mrs. Basham are all very musically inclined, and with their mother can give programmes of unusual interest. He is one of the most honored and loved citizens of Wichita, and is a member of the Old Settlers' and the Pioneer Societies. He lives now in the home which he built when he first came to Wichita in the fall of 1869. Dr. Fabrique helped to start the old St. Francis Hospital and the Wichita Hospital. FARLEY, Mr. and Mrs. J. Francis 1717 Park Place. Before her marriage Mrs. Farley was Miss Florence Gardiner. She has always been prominent in D. A. R. circles, and is a member of the Eunice Sterling D. A. R. She has membership in the Eastern Star, the Pioneer Society, and the League of Women Voters. Mrs. Farley was hostess of the Kansas building at the 1915 Exposition, and last year was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention at San Francisco. Before her marriage Mrs. Herring lived in New York; her name, Miss Atossa Milsen. She is a graduate of Vassar (Phi Beta Kappa), and is a member of the A. C. A. Dr. Herring attended the Union Theological Seminary, Oberlin College, and Columbia University. He is a Phi Delta Theta, a Lion, and a member of the Wichita Club. Their daughters are Atossa, Constance and Virginia. HIGGINSON, Mr. and Mrs. 506 South Seneca Street. Before her marriage Mrs. Higginson (Miss Mattie Glover) lived in Jacksonville, Illinois. She was at one time president of the Woman's Academy in Jacksonville. She studied vocal music under Fred Root, and the pipe organ under Louis Faulk. Until her marriage Mrs. Hilbert was Miss Pauline Irwin. She was a Sorosis at Fairmount and is also a Zeta Beta Psi. Her chief interest is music. Mrs. Hilbert (Miss Lorene Johnson) went to Washington College, Washington, D. C. She is a Zeta Beta Psi. Mr. Hilbert is a Kiwanis. Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert have one son, Earl, Jr. HILL, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. 940 North Market Street. Before her marriage Mrs. Hill was Miss Alice Vaughn, of Winona, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Hill lived in Old Mexico before they came to Wichita. Mr. Hill was in Quincy in college. Mr. Roland Hill was a Sigma Nu at Kansas University. Their daughter, Mrs. Lucien Hobbs, was a Kappa Kappa Gamma at Manhattan. HINDES, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. 902 Faulkner Avenue. Until her marriage Mrs. Hindes was Miss Ida Christopher of Gerard, Illinois. She is a member of the Wichita Hospital Board. HINKEL, Mr. and Mrs. Allan W. 155 Circle Drive. Mrs. Hinkel (Miss Lucy Church Graves), attended Miss Porter's School. Mr. Hinkel is a graduate of Harvard, and belongs to the Harvard Club in New York. He is president of the Lions Club, and is a member of the Wichita and Country Clubs, and is in the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. and Mrs. Hinkel have a daughter, Elizabeth, eight years old. HISSEM, Dr. and Mrs. R. W. 1301 North Emporia Avenue. Mrs. Hissem's name before her marriage was Miss Nellie Sim. She attended the Gardner School, and is a Lambda Alpha Lambda. Dr. Hissem went to West Point, Highland Falls, the University of Kansas and Johns Hopkins. He is a Sigma Chi and a T. N. E. Dr. Hissem is a Kiwanis. His rank in the army was lieutenant-captain, and Major. Dr. Hissem is a member of the American Legion. There are two children, Ralph W., and Suzanne. HOBBS, Mr. and Mrs. James Trent 422 East Central. Mrs. Hobbs' name before her marriage was Miss Pearl Busselle. She is a P. E. O. HODGE, Dr. and Mrs. H. W. 3826 East Second Street. Mrs. Hodge (Miss Ella Owen of Kansas City) is on the Wichita Hospital Board. Dr. Hodge attended Central College, Fayette, and was a Sigma Nu. He is a Mason and has membership in the Wichita, Country, Kiwanis, the Press Club and the Board of Commerce. Dr. and Mrs. Hodge have one daughter, Nancy. HOFFMAN, Dr. and Mrs. J. Z. 938 North Lawrence Avenue. Mrs. Hoffman's name until her marriage was Miss Maud Pratt. She attended the Williard School in Chicago. Mrs. Hoffman is secretary of the Board of the Children's Home.
