        Mrs. Ades, who before her marriage was Miss Mary Findley, is among
Wichita's best known artists.  She has studied piano music with Emil
Liebling of Chicago, Jeanette Durno, of Chicago, and Harold Bauer, of New
York City.
        Mr. Ades has studied music with Frank L. Phelp, of Chicago,
Charles W. Clark of Chicago, and Oscar Seagle of New York.
        Christine and Hawley are Mr. and Mrs. Ades' children.

AINSWORTH, Mrs. Jesse

        Before her marriage Mrs. Ainsworth was Miss Catherine Jones.
        Miss Lydia Ainsworth is a graduate of Kansas University and a
member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.  She has been an instructor of English in the
High School of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
        Miss Bess Ainsworth is a Kansas University graduate and a member
of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
        David Ainsworth is a Kansas University man and a member of Phi
Kappa Psi.
        Alfred Ainsworth is a student at Kansas University and a Phi Kappa

        Miss Treva Aley is the daughter of Mrs. J. H. Aley.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Aley was Miss Mary Wilson.  She attended
Fairmount College where she was a member of Sorosis.  She is a member of

        Mr. Aley is a member of the Country Club, Wichita and Rotary
Clubs.
        Frederick Aley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Aley.  He is a
student at Yale, and his fraternity is Beta Theta Pi.

        Both Mr. and Mrs. Aley are members of the Pioneer Society.
        Before her marriage Mrs. Aley was Miss Cora Rhea of Peoria,

        Miss Allen attended St. Mary's Episcopal School in Knoxville,
Illinois. She is prominently identified with the work of St. James
Episcopal Church on College Hill.  She is a member of the Country Club.

ALLEN, Governor and Mrs. H. J.
        Governor Allen is a member of the Wichita and Rotary Clubs, and of
both the Wichita and Topeka Country Clubs.  He is a Mason.  At Baker
University his fraternity was Delta Tau Delta; he also attended Washburn
College.
        Mrs. Allen (Miss Elsie J. Nuzman) was graduated from Baker
University. She is a member of the A. C. A., the Twentieth Century Club,
the Art Association, and the Topeka Woman's Club.
        Their daughter is Miss Henrietta Allen.

        Mr. Allen attended the University of Kansas and is a member of Phi
Delta Theta.  He is also a member of the K. U. Club and of the American
Legion.

ALLEN, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ware

        Mrs. Allen was before her marriage, Miss Marie Antoinette Switzer
of Brooklyn, N. Y.  She is a member of the P. E. O. Sisterhood, and has
been very prominent in the work of the League of Women Voters.  She is a
member of the Saturday Afternoon Music Club, and her especial interest is
music.  Mrs. Allen attended school at Mt. Holyoke, Massachusetts.
        Mr. Allen is a member of the Wichita Club, Lions and Country
Clubs.  He is a director of the Sedgwick House, and his especial interest
is in philanthropic farm work.
        Their daughter Winifred attended the University of Arkansas.
        Gerard Allen attended the University of Kansas and is a Phi Gamma
Delta.
        Mr. and Mrs. Allen also have a young daughter, Christine.

ALLISON, Mrs. James

        Before her marriage Mrs. Allison was Miss Emily Boardman Fowler of
Livonia, N. Y.  She was graduated from Genessee Wesleyan Seminary at Lima,
N. Y., in 1887.  She also has a diploma from the Chautauqua Scientific and
Literary Course.  She is prominent in affairs of West Wichita and is a
member of Hypatia.
        The James Allison school was named for the late Mr. Allison.

AMBROSE, Mr. and Mrs. R. D.
        1455 Fairview Avenue.
        Before her marriage Mrs. Ambrose was Miss Grace Williams of Kansas
City.  The club and organizations with which she is affiliated are the
Twentieth Century, Hypatia, and Eastern Star.
        Dr. Ambrose is a member of the Shrine Club.

AMIDON, Colonel and Mrs. S. B.
        1005 North Market Street.
        Mrs. Amidon was before her marriage, Miss Alice Noyes.  She
attended school at St. Mary's Hall in Burlington, N. J.
        Colonel Amidon was graduated in 1882 from the Geneva Normal
School, and later attended Oberlin and Hiram Colleges.  He is a charter
member of the Wichita Club, a member of the Country Club, a Mason, Shriner
and National Democratic committeeman from Kansas.  He is vice-chairman of
the Democratic National Committee.
        Colonel Amidon, who is the senior member of Amidon, Buckland, Hart
and Porter, has the best private law library in the state of Kansas.
        Every year Colonel Amidon gives a dinner for the newsboys of
Wichita.

AMSBERRY, Mr. and Mrs. F. C.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Amsberry was Miss Hettie Arnold of
Ellsworth.
        Their daughter Margaret is a student at Monticello Seminary.
        Mr. and Mrs. Amsberry also have a son, Donald Francis.

AMSDEN, Mrs. Edgar

        Before her marriage Mrs. Amsden was Miss Eliza Throckmorton.  She
attended Miss Chamberlain's School in Boston.  She is a member of the
Country Club and of the Baby Camp Board.
        Her sons are Floyd, Tommy, Henry and Edgar.

        Mrs. Amsden was before her marriage Miss Harriett M. Wilson of

        Mrs. Anawalt was before her marriage Miss Lucretia Grosvenor of
Kingman.  She attended Bethany College.

        Miss Jane Anawalt and Miss Lucretia Anawalt are their daughters,
and are students at the Girls' Collegiate School in Los Angeles.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Anderson was Miss Alma Gump of Dayton,
Ohio. She attended Oswego Seminary.
        Mr. Anderson is a member of the Wichita and Country Clubs.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Anderson was Miss Anna Cobine of San
Francisco, California.  She attended the University of California at
Berkeley.
        Mr. Anderson attended Shattuck Military Academy at Saribault,
Minn. During the World War he was in service as a first lieutenant.  He is
a member of the Crestview Country Club.

horseback riding.

Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Kansas; a charter member of the Ivy
Leaf Chapter O. E. S., and executive chairman of the Sedgwick County Red

        Mr. and Mrs. Armour have three children, a little daughter, Mary

        Mrs. Arnold was before her marriage, Miss Irene Solomon.  She is a
graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy.

ASHTON, Mr. Sidney
        Mr. Ashton attended Wisconsin University where he was an Alpha Phi
Sigma.  He is the son of Mrs. C. G. Yankey.

ATKESON, Mr. and Mrs. H. A.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Atkeson was Miss Olive Stearns of
Springfield, Mo.
        It is interesting to know that her grandfather was one of the
earliest governors of Illinois, and to his memory a monument is erected in
the National Park at Quincy.
        Miss Olive Atkeson, their daughter, attended Fairmount College and
was a member of Alpha Tau Sigma.

ATTWATER, The Reverend and Mrs. Clarkson
        St. John's Episcopal Rectory.
        Before her marriage Mrs. Attwater was Miss Mary Cheney of Blue
Rapids. She attended Bethany College and is a member of the Twentieth
Century Club. She is diocesan president of the Woman's Auxiliary of the
Episcopal Church.
        The Reverend Mr. Attwater attended Kansas University and is a Beta
Theta Pi.  He also attended the Seabury Divinity School.
        Julia, their daughter, is a sophomore at Kansas University; Paul,
a high school senior; William a sophomore in high school, and Jane is in
the fifth grade.

AYERS, The Honorable and Mrs. Will A.
        Mrs. Ayers was before her marriage Miss Catherine Drumm.
        Mr. Ayres attended Friends University.  He is a Mason and a member
of the Knights of Pythias.
        Pauline, Katherine and Margaret are the names of Mr. and Mrs.
Ayres' daughters.

AYLESBURY, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
        1136 North Market Street.
        St. Joseph was the home of Mrs. Aylesbury before her marriage, and
her name was Miss Grace Ketcham.
        Mr. and Mrs. Aylesbury are very fond of traveling, and Mr.
Aylesbury is a great reader of travels.  He is a member of the Waldock and
Mt. Hope Hunting Clubs.

AYLESBURY, Mr. and Mrs. C. R.
        3224 East Murdock Avenue.
        Mrs. Aylesbury's name before her marriage was Miss Irene Hunter.
She attended St. Katherine's School in Davenport.
        Mr. Aylesbury is a member of the Phi Lambda Epsilon fraternity.
        They have a small daughter, Virginia.

        Mrs. Baer was before her marriage Miss Effie Morton of Booneville,
Mo. She is a member of the Twentieth Century Club and of the Chartered
Missouri Society.
       Mr. and Mrs. Baer's daughter is Mrs. Mildred Baer Hargis.  Her
sorority is Zeta Beta Psi.

BAGBY, Mr. and Mrs. H. F.

        Mrs. Bagby was before her marriage Miss Alice Guenther of
Lawrence, Kansas.  She is a graduate of the Kansas State University and is
a Kappa Kappa Gamma.
        Both Mr. and Mrs. Bagby are especially interested in golf.
        Mr. Bagby is a member of the Wichita Club and the Country Club.

BAKER, Dr. and Mrs. E. O.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Baker was Miss Nellie Virginia Pyle, and
was head nurse at the Wichita Hospital.  She is a member of the Twentieth
Century Club, the Wichita Hospital Alumnae Association, the State Nurses'
Association and is State Chairman of the Red Cross Nursing organization.
        Dr. Baker is a member of the Crestview Country Club.

BAKER, Mr. and Mrs. Karl

        Mrs. Baker was before her marriage Miss Cecil Lorraine Story of
Kansas City.  She is a member of the Chartered Missouri Society, and is
prominently identified in work of women's organization at the Central
Christian Church.
        Mr. Baker is a Lion, Wichita Club, Country Club and Fairfield
Hunting Club member.

BANKS, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard T.

        Mrs. Banks, who before her marriage was Miss George Corley,
attended Fairmount College, and Ward-Belmont, at Nashville, Tenn.
        Bernard Corley is the very young son of Mr. and Mrs. Banks.

        Mr. Barnes was in France during the World War, and is a member of
the American Legion, Board of Commerce, and Advertising Clubs.

BARNES, Mr. and Mrs. O. D.
        901 North Lawrence Avenue.
        Before her marriage Mrs. Barnes was Miss Ida F. Mason of Richland,
Mich.  She attended Kalamazoo School.  She is a charter member of the
Thursday Cooking Club.
        Both Mr. and Mrs. Barnes are members of the Old Settlers' Club.

BARNES, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice

        Mrs. Barnes was until her marriage, Miss Gussie Hurst of Peoria,
Illinois.
        Mr. Barnes attended Kemper Military School in Booneville, Mo.  He
is a member of the Lions, Wichita and Crestview Country Clubs.

BARRETT, Mr. and Mrs. T. V.
        212 South Meridian Avenue.
        Mrs. Barrett (Miss Charlotte Whitney) attended Sodus Academy in
New York.  She is President of the Helianthus Delphian, and is a member of
Hypatia.
        Her particular interest is in social welfare work.
        Mr. Barrett is a Mason.

BASHAM, Dr. and Mrs. D. W.
        824 North Emporia Avenue.
        Before her marriage Mrs. Basham was Miss Katherine Genevieve
Dailey. She is a Twentieth Century Club member; president of the High
School Parent-Teacher Association and president of the Cathedral Parent-
Teacher Association.  Her especial interests are in the Cathedral parish,
and in the study of vocal and piano music.
        Dr. Basham spent two years in a Paris hospital.  He reads, writes
and speaks four languages, and possesses one of the best libraries in the
United States.  He is a member of the Wichita Club, Press Club, is a
Mason, Chief of Staff at the St. Francis hospital, a member of the
American College of Surgeons, and of the Board of Governors of the State
of Kansas.
        The six young sons of Dr. and Mrs. Basham are all very musically
inclined, and with their mother can give programmes of unusual interest.
David, the eldest, plays the flute; Francis and John are violinists;
Charles plays the Irish harp and when older, James will play the saxophone
and George the clarinet.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Bass was Miss Clara Sarah Fowler of
Livonia, N. Y.  She attended Oberlin College in Ohio.  For the past thirty
years she has served on the Board of the Children's Home.  She is a member
and past president of Hypatia, and is prominently identified with the
activities of Trinity Church.

BASSE, Mr. Charles

        Mr. Basse is a member of the Country Club, of the Art Association,
and of the Board of Commerce.  He likes a good game of golf.

BASSETT, Mr. and Mrs. George
        3547 East Douglas Avenue.
        Before her marriage Mrs. Bassett was Miss Daisy Tackett of
Coffeyville. Her especial interest is the study of music.
        Mr. Bassett is a member of the Kiwanis and Country Clubs.

        Until her marriage, Mrs. Baumstark was Miss Rosa Tarel of Peoria,
Illinois.

        Mrs. Bayless was until her marriage Miss Elma Cressler.  She
attended Lexington College in Lexington, Mo., and Fairmount College, where
she became a member of Sorosis.  Mrs. Bayless is a P. E. O.
        Mr. Bayless attended Washington College in Tennessee and was a
captain with the United States Army overseas, during the World War.  He is
a member of the Wichita and Country Clubs.
        Jeanne is the name of Mr. and Mrs. Bayless' very young daughter.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Beach was Miss Helen Hershberger.  Both
Mr. and Mrs. Beach are graduates of the University of Kansas.  Mrs. Beach
was a Pi Beta Phi, and Mr. Beach a Beta Theta Pi.  Mrs. Beach is a member
of the A. C. A.
        Mr. Beach, who likes golf, is a member of Crestview Country Club.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Beachy was Miss Anna Olinger of
Myersville, Pa.  She is a member of the League of Women Voters.

        Until her marriage Mrs. Beattie was Miss Ruth Harrison of Topeka.
She attended St. Teresa's Convent in Kansas City, and Washburn College in
Topeka. She devotes much time to the study of vocal and piano music.
        Dr. Beattie attended the Kansas City Dental College and his
fraternity is Xi Psi Phi.  He is a member of the Crestview Country Club.

        Until her marriage Mrs. Bedell was Miss Alma Craig.  She attended
K. U. and was pledged to the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  She is a member
of the Zeta Beta Psi, and is becoming greatly interested in horseback

        Mr. Bennett attended the State University of Indiana and his
fraternity is Phi Kappa Psi.  He has done much in a musical way is a
Rotarian, and a member of the Rotary Quartet.  He has a small son and
daughter, Merle Ludlam and Corinne Elizabeth.

        Until her marriage Mrs. Bergier was Miss Crystal Kelly.  She
attended college at Manhattan and is a member of the Delta Delta Delta

        Before her marriage Mrs. Bertolette was Miss Mercy Elizabeth Oburn
of Indianapolis.  She was graduated the Indianapolis Manual Training High
School. She is a member of Twentieth Century, the League of Women Voters,
and is an ex-officer of the City Federation of Clubs.
        Mr. Bertolette is a graduate of Dickenson College in Carlisle, Pa.
His fraternity is Sigma Chi and he is a member of the Elks and Press
clubs.

        Mrs. Bessire was before her marriage Miss Magdalene Fisher of

        Until her marriage Mrs. Bird was Miss Gertrude M. Hacker.  Her
especial interest during the past few years has been in the work of the
Twentieth Century Club.
        Mr. Bird was four years Judge of the District Court.  He was
elected to the 67th Congress in 1920.  Mr. Bird is a member of the Wichita

        Before her marriage Mrs. Branch was Miss Luella Brown of
Concordia, Kansas.  She is a member of Hypatia, Twentieth Century, and has
held all the offices in the District Federation of Clubs.  Mrs. Branch is
also prominent in work of the Episcopal Church and is president of the
Council of Guilds of the Diocese of Kansas.  She was one of the original
committee to organize what has since become the Public Health Nursing
Association.
        Mr. Branch is a member of the Co-operative Club, the Wichita Club
and the Board of Commerce.
        Miss Hazel Elizabeth Branch attended the University of Kansas and
received her Ph. D. in Biology from Cornell University at Ithaca, N. Y.
She is a Phi Beta Kappa and a Sigma Xi.  She is a member of Hypatia and
the A. C. A. Miss Branch has devoted much time to research work along
scientific lines.  She has done technical drawing for the Geographic and
other technical magazines. She has also made the illustrations for the
book written by Professor Hunter of Kansas University, and has been of
valuable service to Dr. E. G. Needham of Cornell, in scientific research
work.

        Until her marriage Mrs. Brodie was Miss Marie Bosse of Ellinwood.
During the years that her father was County Treasurer, she served as
Deputy, and after her marriage was in the office of Register of Deeds as
her husband's assistant.
        Miss Esther Brodie, their daughter, attended Christian College in
Columbia, Mo.  She is a member of Zeta Beta Psi.

BROKAW, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph

        Mrs. Brokaw was before her marriage, Miss Florence Young of
Chicago. She has studied piano with August Hyllested, and is a gold medal
graduate of the Chicago Musical College.  She was also awarded a medal for
her work with the Gottschalk School.
        Mr. Brokaw received his musical education in Chicago, and was an
honor pupil from the Drake School of Violin.  He is a Rotarian and a
Shriner.

attended National Park Seminary in Washington, and the Kansas State

School in Chicago.  He is a member of the Lions Club, and of the Crestview

        Until her marriage Mrs. Brooks was Miss Jane M. Lillie of Marion,
Iowa.  She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She is a member of
the Monday Club, Twentieth Century, the Colonial Dames and the League of
Women Voters, to which she devotes a very great amount of time.  She was
first National Chairman of the organization, is president of the State
League, and of the Sedgwick County League.  She is also State Historian
and State Secretary for the Colonial Dames.
        Mr. Brooks attended Montpelier Seminary in Vermont.  He is a
member of the Wichita and Country Clubs.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Brooks was Miss Hazel Carson of Ashland.
She attended Miss Capin's School for Girls at Northampton, Mass., and
later attended the State University, where she was a member of Pi Beta
Phi, the Torch, Phi Lambda Theta, the Student Council and the University
Glee Club.  Mrs. Brooks is province president of Pi Beta Phi.
        Mr. Brooks attended Cornell College in Iowa, and Leland Stanford
University in California, and is a graduate of the University of Chicago.

        Booneville was the home of Miss Jessie Wooldridge, who is now Mrs.
Brosius.  She attended the University of Missouri, where she affiliated
with Kappa Kappa Gamma.  She is a member of the Saturday Afternoon Musical
Club. Mrs. Brosius has an unusually lovely soprano voice, and has studied
at the Damrosch School in New York, and with Clinton Elder in St. Louis,
as well as with Mrs. Jennie Schultz in Kansas City.

University, where he was a member of the Campus Club.  He entered the
Ambulance Service in France with a Princeton unit, and after service
overseas, completed his work at the University in 1918.

Elocution and Oratory.  She is a member of the Helianthus Delphian and the

Webster Parent-Teachers' Association.

        Mrs. Campbell, who until her marriage was Miss Margaret Garwood,

Clark County finds especial delight in riding in round-ups, and taking
part in shooting meets.

Board.  The Baby Camp, the League of Women Voters and of the Women's
Committee on Child Welfare for the State.  Charities and Church work too,
have occupied a large part of her time.

        Miss Clough is a graduate of Olivet College in Michigan, from
which she has an honorary Master's Degree.  The last two years of her
study at that college, she was assistant to the Dean of Women.  For
twenty-five years Miss Clough has been Dean of Women at Fairmount College
and has the degree of Lit D. from Fairmount.  She is a member of the
Fairmount Library Club, a charter member of the Twentieth Century,  a
charter member of the Colonial Dames and a member of Daughters of Colonial
Governors.  Miss Clough has also been head of the Department of English
Literature at Fairmount for many years.  Her particular interests are
literature, College girls, and Y. W. C. A. work.

many offices.  At present, she is Associate Grand Matron of Kansas.

        Mrs. Darling was until her marriage Miss Vera Williams.  She
attended Fairmount College where she was a member of Sorosis.  She is a
member of the Delphian Society and one of her greatest interests is music.
        Mr. Darling attended Fairmount College, and in 1910 was graduated
from Yale.  His fraternity is Beta Theta Pi.  He is also very greatly
interested in music and has appeared in a number of musicales and
entertainments.  He is a Rotarian, a Wichita Club and Country Club member.

        Michigan City, Indiana, was the home of Mrs. Darling before her
marriage.  Her name was Miss Marietta Upson.  She is a Colonial Dame.
        Mr. Darling is a member of the Wichita and Country Clubs, the
Board of Commerce, and is a Rotarian.  He has been Treasurer of the Y. M.
C. A. Board for twenty years, is a member of the Federation of Churches, a
Director of the Wichita League for Social Work, a trustee of Fairmount
College, and a Director in the Fourth National Bank.  Mr. Darling is a
Shriner.

        Mrs. Davidson was until her marriage Miss Bessie Grear Carver of
Jacksonville, Illinois.  Few women have a larger place in the hearts of
ex-service men than does Mrs. Davidson.  Since the organization of the
Sedgwick County's Red Cross chapter she has been Chairman of the Home
Service Section and in this capacity has done unlimited services to the
ex-army men and their families.  She is a charter member of the Twentieth
Century Club, a member of the Saturday Afternoon Musical Club, the Wichita
Hospital Board, of the Executive Board of the Red Cross, the League of
Women Voters; the Old Settlers' Club and the Country Club.

Buffalo, New York.  She attended the Sacred Heart Academy.  Mrs. Denniston
is Secretary of the Sedgwick County Red Cross.

        Miss Sarah Correll was Mrs. Denton's name before her marriage, and
she lived in Peoria, Illinois.  She attended the Illinois State Normal
School.  Mrs. Denton is vice president of the Helianthus Delphian, and for
two years was Historian of Hypatia.  Mrs. Denton does a great deal of
philanthropic work, supervising it herself.  She also proved up a
government claim.  Mrs. Denton represented the District Federation of
Clubs at New York and at Hot Springs.
        Mr. Frank W. Denton attended the K. S. A. C.  He is a member of
the Crestview Country Club.

        The name of Mrs. Derby was Miss Ida Burke, and she lived in
Chanute before her marriage.  She attended Lexington College.

        Miss Genevera Jocelyn was Mrs. Doze's name before her marriage.
She was graduated from Lewis Academy in the classical course, and has made
a special study of languages, music, and dramatic art.  Mrs. Doze has had
much prose and verse published.
        Mr. Doze studied law for a time and then went into newspaper work.
He is president of the Chikaskia Gun Club, and with Mrs. Doze belongs to
the Art Association.

        Before she married Mrs. Elcock was Miss Beatrice Holton, of
Moline, Kansas.  She attended Central College in Missouri.
        Judge Elcock was graduated at Harvard, after attending Fairmount

Southern Methodist University, at Dallas.  She is interested especially in
china painting.

        Miss Metta Senter was Mrs. Engstrom's name, and her home was at

member of the Country and Wichita Clubs.
        Miss Evelyn Engstrom was graduated from national Park Seminary,
where she studied dramatic art, and gave "Peg o' My Heart" for her

        Miss Laura Morris was Mrs. Evans' name.  She is a member of the
Wichita D. A. R., and the Twentieth Century Club.  She is interested in
psychology and child culture, and is in the Y. W. C. A. Psychology Club.
        Mr. Evans is a Mason.  His hobby is readying history.
        Their daughter Jane is thirteen, and has studied music under Miss
Moyer.  Her interest is theatricals, and she has written and produced a
play. She wishes to become a writer of stories.  She also likes dancing,
embroidery, and tennis.

EVANS, Mr. and Mrs. Harry

        Mrs. Evans was born in London, and was Miss Beatrice Ellen
Jeffrey.  She attended school in England.
        Mr. Evans went to London University and studied with private
tutors. Music is his great interest, and he organized the Wichita
Municipal Chorus.  He is director of the Central Christian Choir.  He
studied music under Ben Blaxland, Cuthbert, and Nunn, and is a member of
the Incorporated Society of the Musicians of London.  Mr. Evans was
decorated by King George for his musical services at the coronation in
1911.  He is a member of Kiwanis and of the Board of Commerce.  Mrs. Evans
is an excellent amateur musician, and a good critic.
        Mr. and Mrs. Evans have three children, Cecilia, Gladys, and
Thomas, who are studying music, especially singing.

        Mrs. Evans was Miss Florence Naftzger before her marriage.  She
belongs to the Book Club of the A. C. A., the League of Women Voters, and
the Wichita D. A. R.  She attended school at Drake University.
        Dr. Evans went to Washington University.  He is a member of the
Wichita and Country Clubs, and plays golf.


FABRIQUE, Dr. A. H.
        503 North Lawrence Avenue.
        Dr. Fabrique studied at Centre College, Kentucky, and Northwestern
University.  He is one of the most honored and loved citizens of Wichita,
and is a member of the Old Settlers' and the Pioneer Societies.  He lives
now in the home which he built when he first came to Wichita in the fall
of 1869.  Dr. Fabrique helped to start the old St. Francis Hospital and
the Wichita Hospital.

FARLEY, Mr. and Mrs. J. Francis
        1717 Park Place.
        Before her marriage Mrs. Farley was Miss Florence Gardiner.  She
has always been prominent in D. A. R. circles, and is a member of the
Eunice Sterling D. A. R.  She has membership in the Eastern Star, the
Pioneer Society, and the League of Women Voters.  Mrs. Farley was hostess
of the Kansas building at the 1915 Exposition, and last year was a
delegate to the Democratic National Convention at San Francisco.  She was
Woman's Chairman of the State Democratic party.
        Mr. Farley is a member of the American Legion, and of the Kiwanis
and the Country Clubs.

 FARRELL, The Reverend Father W. M.
        St. Mary's Rectory.
        Father Farrell, Rector of St. Mary's Cathedral, attended the
Parochial school in Indiana, St. Francis' College in St. Paul, Kansas, St.
Benedict's College in Atchison, Kenerick Seminary in St. Louis, and spent
four years at the North American College in Rome, Italy.  From his
fourteenth to his twentieth year he was engaged in the grocery business.
Father Farrell has been Rector in Wichita for four years.  He devotes a
great deal of his time to promoting community spirit in the parish.  He is
a member of the Rotary Club, both in Wichita and Hutchinson.

FERGUSON, Mrs. C. V.

        Before marriage Mrs. Ferguson (Miss Emma Snoddy of Covington,
Indiana), went to Indiana University.  She is a member of the Cooking
Club, the Old Settlers and the Country Clubs.  For many years she has been
on the Training School committee of the Wichita Hospital, and on the
board, and the committee of the Welfare of the Nurses.
        Miss Helen studied at the Fairmont School for Girls at Washington,
D. C.  She studied History of Art.

FERRELL, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd B.

        Mrs. Ferrell lived in Shelbyville, Illinois, before her marriage,
when she was Miss Tarsy S. Myers.  She attended the State Normal of
Illinois.  In Wichita she is a member of the Pioneer and Old Settlers
Societies.  She is a graduate of the Sunflower Chautauqua.
        Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell have lived in their present home for thirty-
nine years.  Their flowers have been much admired, and they love their
home and garden.

        Mrs. Ferrell lived in Anthony before her marriage, and her name
was Miss Helen Reilly.  She was graduated from Fairmount College.

with Marchesi.  Mrs. Flath is well known in musical work, in the theatre
and in opera.
        Mr. Flath is noted for his work in music and as a composer.  He
studied at the Dayton Conservatory in Cincinnati and in New York.

        Before she married Mrs. Fleishman's name was Miss Beatrice Foster.
She is the daughter of the late Judge Cassius Foster, who was Judge of the
State Supreme Court for twenty-five years.  She is affiliated with the
Twentieth Century Club.  Mrs. Fleishman attended Bethany College.  Her
interests are in her home, and in work in the prevention of cruelty to
animals.
        Mr. Fleishman is interested in public works, and is a member of
the Wichita Club.
        Their daughters, Lillian and Janet like outdoor sports, and Janet
also plays the violin.

        Mrs. Flickinger is a Patroness of Sorosis at Fairmount and does
much for the girls and boys of the college.
        Mr. Flickinger is a graduate of Otterbyne University.
        Milo Flickinger is a Mason and a Shriner.  He is now studying
engineering at Illinois University, where he a Sigma Nu.  He was chosen
from the University to go to Ft. Sheridan, and he received his commission
as first lieutenant.  Later he was an army instructor.
        John Flickinger is also a Sigma Nu at K. U.  He received his
commission at Sheridan at 19, and was the youngest officer in the army.

        Mrs. Griffith's name before her marriage was Miss Lola D. Paris,
Madison, Indiana.  She belongs to the Musicians Club and the Eastern Star,
and has for her special interest music and her church choir.
        Lt. Col. Griffith was graduated from the Franklin and Marshall
College and was a Chi Phi.  He holds an A. B. and an A. M.  He is
president of the University Club.  Colonel Griffith is a member of the
Shrine and the Scottish Rites Masons, K. C. C. H.  During the war he was
in the 130th Field Artillery of the 39th Division.  For eighteen years he
was in the army, and has always been greatly interested in military work.
He has also taken up public education and has been for a long time a
member of the school board.  Colonel Griffith also studied for the
ministry and for a Ph. D. degree, and for fifteen years was pastor of the
Brown Memorial Reformed Church in Wichita.
        Colonel and Mrs. Griffith have two sons at home:  Perry, and Joe,
who is an Alpha Gamma man at Fairmount.  Their daughter, an Alpha Tau
Sigma at Fairmount and later a student at K. U., is Mrs. Charles Barnard
of Tampa, Florida.

        Miss Mary Edith Coombe was Mrs. Griffith's name before her
marriage. She is a member of the Baby Camp, of the Book Club, the

of Women Voters.  Mrs. Griffith is a graduate of Leland Stanford, where
she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma. She studied under Mme. Schneider in San
Francisco.

        Mrs. Gsell's name before her marriage was Miss Ellen Bell, of
Richmond, Kansas.  She likes to read, and to lead an outdoor life.
        Dr. Gsell was graduated from the University of Chicago.  He

        Miss Gladys is a Sorosis at Fairmount.  Dr. and Mrs. Gsell have
two other daughters and a son, Misses Irma, Evelyn, and George.

GULDNER, Dr. and Mrs. Rene

        Mrs. Guldner was Miss Bertha Stackman, daughter of the late Fred
Stackman.  She is president of the Mt. Carmel Alumnae Association,
secretary of the Twentieth Century Club, and a member of the Book and the
Saturday Afternoon Musical Clubs.  She studied at the Conservatory in
Strasbourg, France, the pipe organ and the piano.  Later she took an
extension course at Columbia University.  In New York she was a member of
the Bohemian Art Club and of the colonial Dames.
        Dr. Guldner was born in Phoinville, France, and studied at Paris
University, and also in Berlin and Munich.  He was graduated from the
Strasbourg University as a Doctor of Laws.  Later he studied medicine at
Columbia.  He is a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma Club and the Omega Club.
In Wichita he is associated with the Wichita, the Lions, the Press, the
Hammer and Tongs Clubs.

GUNNELL, Mrs. Mary Palmer

        Mrs. Gunnell is of English ancestry, a direct descendant of
Mormaduke Tilden of Great Oaks Manor, Kent county, Maryland.  Before
coming to Wichita her home was at Great Bend, Kansas, where she was very
active in club work.  She is a member of the Nation Society, Daughters of
the American Revolution.  She is a member of the Twentieth Century Club,
Eunice Sterling chapter, D. A. R., Y. M. C. A., and First Presbyterian
Church.
        Palmer M. Gunnell, is at present in command of one of the United
States Navy Destroyers, having entered service at the beginning of the
war.  He was graduated from the law school of University of Illinois, is a
member of the Cook county bar, and P. A. D. fraternity.
        Vaughn C. Gunnell entered the service of the United States at the
beginning of the war but resigned from the service three years ago.  He
attended both Northwestern University and University of Chicago.  He is a
member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, a 32nd degree Mason, and Shriner.  His
clubs are the Detroit Athletic, Army and Navy in Washington, D. C., the
American Legion, and the Wichita Country Club.

        Mrs. Hadley's name before her marriage was Miss Lillian Outland,
and her home was in Beloit.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Hadley are graduates of
Grellette Academy.  Mrs. Hadley is a Twentieth Century Club member, and
also of the Liberal Arts Club.  She has always been on the Board of
Directors of the Y. W. C. A., and has displayed much interest in college
affairs, being on the Advisory Board of the Friends University Y. W. C. A.
        Mr. Hadley is president of the Y. M. C. A., is on the Board of
Directors of Friends' University, on the board of the American Indian
Institute, and on the State Executive Committee of the Y. M. C. A.  Mr.
Hadley was former City Commissioner and president of the commission.  He
is a Rotarian and a Wichita and Country Club member.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Hagan's name was Miss Julia Purcell

        Dr. Hagan went to Northwestern University and Iowa State College.

on the Y. W. C. A. Board, and is Financial Secretary.
        Mrs. Harper's niece, Miss Lillian Good, went to Ferry Hall at Lake
Forest, and is an accomplished musician.  She plays the violin.

HARRINGTON, Mr. and Mr. Jerome

        Mrs. Harrington was Miss Constance Smyth before her marriage, and
she went to school in Lausanne, Switzerland, and to a convent school in
Washington.
        Mr. Harrington attended the University of Michigan, where he was a
Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  He is a member of the Co-operative, Wichita, and
Country Clubs, and is Treasurer of the Wheat Show.

        Miss Norma Harris is a graduate of Monticello Seminary, is a

        Mrs. Hart (Miss Eula Freeland of Kansas) is a graduate of the
Froebel Kindergarten School.  She takes great interest in interior
decoration, and has a collection of pictures of lovely homes.
        Mr. Hart is a member of the Wichita, Country and Rotary Clubs.
His diversion is golf.
        The two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Hart is named Joseph Edward.

HART, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
        Mrs. Hart (Miss Mary Agnes Walker) was graduated from Rogers Hall
and Smith College.  She also attended Ward-Belmont.  Mrs. Hart was on the
Soldiers' Memorial Committee, was State President of the A. C. A.,
Corresponding Secretary of the Wichita D. A. R., and president of the
Wichita A. C. A., Representative of the League of Women Voters on the
Kansas Women's Child Welfare Committee. She is also a member of the Kansas
Women's Council, and of the Board the Sedgwick County League of Women
Voters.  Mrs. Hart made a very comprehensive survey for the Children's
Code Commission, and is very influential in Child Welfare work.  She is a
member of the Book Club.
        Mr. Hart is a member of the Wichita and Country Clubs.
        Mr. and Mrs. Hart have lately gone to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to
live.

HARTLE, Miss Elne

        Miss Hartle was in school at the Western College for Girls at
Oxford, Ohio, and the Art Institute and Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago.
She also attended Lewis Academy.  She is a P. E. O. and a Lambda Alpha
Lambda.  Her chief interests are music and arts and crafts work.  Miss
Hartle does beautiful china painting as well as hammered silver and brass
work.

HARTLE, Mr. and Mrs. Earle H.

        Mrs. Hartle lived in Irving, Illinois, until her marriage, and her
name was Miss Maud Cobb.  She attended Lewis Academy, and is a member of
the Eastern Star, and of the Pioneer Society.
        Mr. Hartle is an Elk and a Shriner.
        Jack Hartle, Mr. and Mrs. Hartle's son, went to Koester College in
Chicago, and also K.U.  His fraternity is Sigma Nu.

HASTY, Mr. and Mrs. L. A.

        Mrs. Hasty (Miss Marjorie Lyle of Glen Elder, Kansas), is a member
of the A. C. A., and of Pan-Hellenic Association.  She is much interested
in amateur dramatics.
        Mr. Hasty, who was representative for the 67th district in the
State Legislature, last session, is a member of the Wichita Club.  Both
Mr. and Mrs. Hasty were graduated from Washburn, where Mrs. Hasty was a
Kappa Alpha Theta, and Mr. Hasty a Phi Delta Theta.  Mr. Hasty served as a
captain during the world war and is a member of the American Legion.

HASTY, Mr. and Mrs. Robert R.

        Topeka was Mrs. Hasty's home until her marriage, and her name was
Miss Eula Fleming.  She is a member of the A. C. A., the Delphian and Pan-
Hellenic.
        Both Mr. and Mrs. Hasty were graduated from Washburn, where Mrs.
Hasty was an Alpha Phi, and Mr. Hasty a Phi Delta Theta.  Mr. Hasty is a
member of the American Legion.

HATTON, Mr. and Mrs. Charles. H.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Hatton was Miss Fode Stanley.  She is on
the Y. W. C. A. Board, and in the Eunice Sterling D. A. R.  Her interest
lies in music.
        Mr. Hatton is a Shriner, and a member of the Wichita and Lions
Clubs. He had one year at the University of Sorbonne in Paris, then
attended Colorado University, and received his degree from Southwestern
College.

HAUN, Mr. and Mrs. George

        Mrs. Haun was Miss Christine Ross before her marriage.  She was
graduated from National Park Seminary, and is a member of the Pioneer
Society.
        Mr. Haun was in service overseas as first lieutenant.

HAYES, Mr. and Mrs. R. R.

        Miss Pearl Schell was Mrs. Hayes' name until her marriage.  She
received her degree from the University of Kansas and she also attended
Fairmont and Chicago University.  Mrs. Hayes is Critic of The Helianthus
Delphian, and next year is to be a delegate to the Federation of Women's
Clubs.  She is a member of the Music Department of the A. C. A., and is
very much interested in both vocal and piano music.  Mrs. Hays is now
working on her Master degree.  She is a Pi Kappa Sigma.
        Mr. Hayes is a Mason.
        Lenore Maybelle, Noel Van, and Neill are the names of Mr. and Mrs.
Hayes' children.

        Mrs. Haymaker (Miss Allie King of Eminence, Kentucky) attended
Eminence College.
        Judge Haymaker attended Hanover University.  He is a member of the
Wichita and Country Clubs.
        Miss Mary Haymaker was a Sorosis at Fairmount, and a member of the
Twentieth Century Club.
        Mr. Henley Haymaker was a Sigma Nu at K. S. A. C.  He now lives in
Manhattan.

        Mrs. Hayworth (Miss Bess Applegate) is a member of the Twentieth
Century Club and of the Eastern Star.  She bakes most delicious cakes, and
has made a success of her work.  She has two children, Dorothy Jean and

        Mrs. Healy's name before her marriage was Miss Irene Hooper, and

        Until her marriage Mrs. Heckard was Miss Bessie Blanton.  She is
among Wichita's artists and her musical study was received at the Chicago
Musical College.  Mrs. Heckard is a member of the Saturday Afternoon
Musical and Twentieth Century Clubs, and her especial interests are music
and church activities.
        Mr. Heckard has memberships in the Wichita, Country, Advertising,
Co-operative and Press Clubs, is a Shriner, and a member of the Board of
Commerce.

        Mrs. Hegler (Miss Ida Ainsworth of Lyons) is a graduate of K. U.,
and was a Kappa Kappa Gamma.

        Mrs. Henderson (Miss Zana Knight) lived in Meridian, Mississippi,
before her marriage, and was educated by private instructors.  She is a
member of the Twentieth Century Club and of the League of Women Voters.
Gardening is her particular interest, and she has devoted much time to the
studying of it.
        Mr. Henderson received his degree from the University of
Tennessee.  His home was in Knoxville.  He has received his M. A.  Mr.
Henderson is a member of the Lions, Wichita, and Country Clubs.

        Mrs. Henrion (Miss Mabel Bruce) attended Fairmount and was an
Alpha Tau Sigma.  She is Chairman of the A. C. A. Book Club.
        Mr. Henrion also was graduated from Fairmount, where he was a Phi
Lambda Psi.  He belongs to the Flyers Club, La Societe des 40 et 8, the
American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.

HERRING, The Rev. and Mrs. Hubert C.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Herring lived in New York; her name, Miss
Atossa Milsen.  She is a graduate of Vassar (Phi Beta Kappa), and is a
member of the A. C. A.
        Dr. Herring attended the Union Theological Seminary, Oberlin
College, and Columbia University.  He is a Phi Delta Theta, a Lion, and a
member of the Wichita Club.
        Their daughters are Atossa, Constance and Virginia.

HIGGINSON, Mr. and Mrs.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Higginson (Miss Mattie Glover) lived in
Jacksonville, Illinois.  She was at one time president of the Woman's
Academy in Jacksonville.  She studied vocal music under Fred Root, and the
pipe organ under Louis Faulk.  At the present she is interested in
composing music, in which she shows exceptional talent.

        Until her marriage Mrs. Hilbert was Miss Pauline Irwin.  She was a
Sorosis at Fairmount and is also a Zeta Beta Psi.  Her chief interest is
music.
        Mr. Hilbert is a Pi Delta Kappa, and is a member of the Crestview
Country Club.

        Mrs. Hilbert (Miss Lorene Johnson) went to Washington College,
Washington, D. C.  She is a Zeta Beta Psi.

        Before her marriage Mrs. Hill was Miss Alice Vaughn, of Winona,
Illinois.  Mr. and Mrs. Hill lived in Old Mexico before they came to
Wichita.

        Mr. Roland Hill was a Sigma Nu at Kansas University.  Their
daughter, Mrs. Lucien Hobbs, was a Kappa Kappa Gamma at Manhattan.

        Until her marriage Mrs. Hindes was Miss Ida Christopher of Gerard,
Illinois.  She is a member of the Wichita Hospital Board.

HINKEL, Mr. and Mrs. Allan W.

        Mrs. Hinkel (Miss Lucy Church Graves), attended Miss Porter's
School.
        Mr. Hinkel is a graduate of Harvard, and belongs to the Harvard
Club in New York.  He is president of the Lions Club, and is a member of
the Wichita and Country Clubs, and is in the Chamber of Commerce.
        Mr. and Mrs. Hinkel have a daughter, Elizabeth, eight years old.

HISSEM, Dr. and Mrs. R. W.

        Mrs. Hissem's name before her marriage was Miss Nellie Sim.  She
attended the Gardner School, and is a Lambda Alpha Lambda.
        Dr. Hissem went to West Point, Highland Falls, the University of
Kansas and Johns Hopkins.  He is a Sigma Chi and a T. N. E.  Dr. Hissem is
a Kiwanis. His rank in the army was lieutenant-captain, and Major.  Dr.
Hissem is a member of the American Legion.
        There are two children, Ralph W., and Suzanne.
