She found the chief of the night police and informed him that she had been scared almost out of her wits by a man who came to her house demanding admittance and being refused had started in hammering the front door down. She had slipped out the back door and run for help. The night watch, after hearing her tale of woe, went out to the place and after pushing his way through the crowd which had congregated to see the fun, met Mr. Alonzo HYATT, the distrurber of the peace in question, and collared him. He was drunk and disorderly and in very light summer dress--exceedingly light. The neighbors to whom Mrs. Kelly had appealed for protection had declined because Mr. Hyatt had sworn that he would cut any one up into little bits who interfered with him. He was brought up and lodged in the cooler and will have his hearing this morning.
