Walnut Valley Times, April 17, 1903, Volume XXXIV, Number 12
MONTGOMERY:  Died April 10, John Montgomery, aged about 69 years, deceased was 
an ex-union soldier, a member of Co. C, 1st Missouri Calvary. He came here from 
Oklahoma less than a year ago and bought a home. He went to Oklahoma from 
Missouri about two years ago. A wife and eleven children are bereft. The 
funeral occurs from the G. A. R. hall tomorrow at 2:30, under auspices of 
Wallace Post.
