He was reared in Ohio, and in 1861 came to Indiana and engaged in plastering at Indianapolis till 1865, when he removed to Tipton County, and purchased eighty-two acres of land. He has since added forty acres to this, and has eighty-five acres of his farm under cultivation and well drained with tile. Mr. Findling was married, in 1861, to Miss Louisa Geyer, who died in 1868. By this union there are three children living- William, Emma and John. He was next married, in March, 1868, to Miss Margaret Kiser. They have five children-Edward, Herbert, Frank, Arthur and Lela May. Mr. Findling is a prominent citizen; is a member of the Methodist Church, and, politically, is identified with the Republican party.
