Mary Hunter

Mary F. Hunter, 76, of 2702 8th Ave., Rock Island, died Wednesday, July 7, 
1999, ay home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island, with 
the Rev. Flossie Partlow officiating. Burial is in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock 
Island. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

She was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Mount Sterling, Ill., the daughter of Thomas 
Miller and Sarah McDannald Miller. She married Everett Hunter June 20, 1939.

She worked for 22 year at Royal Neighbors of America in the housekeeping 
department, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of Royal Neighbors Camp 281. She enjoyed being with her 
family, quarter-horse racing, bowling, and writing poetry.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Iams, East Moline; a son, Jerry Hunter, 
Rock Island; grandchildren, Kevin, Jerry and Theresa Iams, Greg Johnson and 
Tracy Nessler, Mark Hunter, Tammy Lage and Jenny Lees, Lisa Miller, Kathy 
Yungen and Lora Staken; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death 
by her parents; her husband, in 1989; a daughter, Shirley Johnson; a brother, 
Robert Miller; a sister, Alberta Brown; and a stepbrother, Lawrence Smith.
