ALBERT CHAPMAN DIES Veleda Wedekind Chapman, aged 54 years, 11 months and 6 days, beloved wife of Albert Chapman, died at her home in Raymond, on Monday, June 17, 1929, at the hour of 10:45 o'clock p.m., her death bing (sp) due to heart trouble. Veleda Wedekind was born on July 11, 1874, and was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wedekind, both deceased. On October 4, 1893, she was united im marriage to Mr. Albert Chapman of Raymond, and has spent almost all of her life in and near Raymond. To this union seven children were born, two of whom have preceded her in death; those surviving are Harry and Curtis, of Raymond; Earl, of Granite City, Ill., Keith and Mrs. Emma Rice, of Chicago, Ill., together with her husband and five grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Guy Mitts, of Mulberry Grove, and Mrs. William Weingand, of Hillsboro. After her marriage she moved to the Chapman home about one and three-fourths miles north of Raymond and resided there until five years ago when, with her husband she moved to her late home in Raymond where she has continued to reside. The funeral services were held ond Wednesday afternoon, June 19th, at the hour of two o'clock, at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Raymond, the pastor, Rev. Fred Kern, officiating. The remains were taken to Asbury cemetery for interment.
