Sheff Dies at Age of 67 William E. Sheff, a resident of Alton for the last 20 years, died at his home at 1737 Alby Street at 9:40 Sunday evening after an extended illness with heart trouble and complications at the age of 67 years. He had been bedfast for the last six weeks, and in failing health for a year past. Born and reared in Greene county, Sheff moved to Grafton just a few years after his marriage 45 years ago to Temperance E. Walls, who survives him, and came to Alton from that city. For 18 years he was employed with the Illinois Glass Co. Besides his widow, he leaves a son, Ellery, and two daughters, Miss Lillie Sheff and Mrs. Edith Nichelson. Funeral services will be at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Streeper funeral home to Oakwood cemetery.
