Obituary of Mrs Catherine PERKINS, Greene County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Mary Hillman Mrs. Catherine Perkins, aged 88 years, 7 months and 2 days, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. I. W. Decker, in the west part of town at two p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 1912. Her maiden name was Savage, she was a native of Vermont, migrating from that state to Illinois with her parents. Dec. 13, 1847, she and Norman Perkins were married. Mr. Perkins died March 23, 1890. Four of their five children survive, as follows: Charles, Mrs. Alda Decker, wife of the late I.W. Decker; Clara wife of John Peters, of this city and Mrs. Ella Painter of Missouri. Funeral services were held at the late home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Flagge of the M. E. church and Rev. Moore of the Christian church.
