Williams, 76, of rural Brownstown died at 10: 15 p.m. Tuesday in Fayette County Hospital Vandalia, IL. Mr. Williams was born November 6, 1900, near Brownstown, the son of Harvey and Margaret Williams. He was a member of the First Christain Church, Brownstown, and a former member of the Fayette County Board. He was Otego township road commissioner for 18 years. He married Pauline Brown, who died in 1936. He married Neita Thompson in 1940. Surviving are his wife; sons: Paul of Decatur; Bob of Streator; Jerry of Longwood, Fla; daughters Mrs. Edwin (Wilma) Tackett of Brownstown; Mrs Burton (Mary) Billings of St. Louis, MO. Mrs Jack (Ruth) Schlicht of Los Angles, California; brothers Guy of Ceder Rapids, Iowa; Harvey of Brownstown; sisters Mrs. Harry (Josephine) Denning of Brownstown; Mrs. Otto (Kate) Roggasch of Roseburg, Oregon; 21 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Claggett funeral home, Brownstown, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Loogootee, Illinois.
