Obituary of Vivian HODGES, Clark County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Cindy McCachern mccachern@worldnet.att.net Obituary of Vivian Hodges From 23 August 1905, Clark County (IL) Herald Vivian, the little daughter of Charles C. and Emma Hodges of Melrose township, died August 10, 1905. Her life of two and one-half years was a benediction to the parents, sisters and brothers, grandparents, uncles and aunts. Hers was a bright, short life of sunshine and joy, and oh! how hard to live without her little presence, though transformed from an earthly life to a heavenly life, from a mortal to an immortal life, from one of corruption to an incorruptible life, from a brief life to an endless life. Take courage, father and mother, sisters and brothers. Through our tears we can by faith see her spotless soul safe with Him who died that she might live forever. Her life was brief here, but God has promised to satisfy her with long life and show her His salvation. Memorial services are always sad services, but with Christian heart and Christian hope and Christian faith they are not dead, but they are just gone away somewhere in the great beyond, in the limitless universe of Almighty God. They live again and by and by their friends shall see them in the glory of the incarnation. In the beauty of their holiness, we shall see them. A. G.
