Gard 29 January 1918, Clark County (IL) Democrat St. Paul, Minn., January 27--At a quiet wedding in the church parlors of the People's church, Mrs. W. A. Whitney and H. V. Gard, both of Superior, were married here at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. There were no attendants. The ceremony was performed by Rev. James Robert Smith, pastor of the People's church. Following the wedding the couple left for a short honeymoon trip. Mr. Gard is Superior corporation counsel. Mrs. Whitney is the widow of the late William A. Whitney, president of the United States National Bank. Rev. J. Robert Smith, who performed the ceremony is a former Superion pastor. Mr. and Mrs. Gard will return to Superior in about two weeks and will be at home at 1712 North Twenty-first street after March 1.
