Obituary of Sarah E. White (Crowder) - Sangamon, Christian Counties, Illinois Taken from one of the following newspapers - Springfield, Pawnee, Edinburg or Taylorville. Date of death was May 22, 1909, Place - Christian county, IL. Mortuary. The demise of Mrs. Sarah E. White occurred at the family home, two and one-half miles southeast of this city, shortly before noon Saturday, May 22. The deceased was the widow of the late Hiram White, and was aged 73 years, 8 months and 29 days. She was a pioneer citizen of the community and was held in universal esteem by an extensive circle of acquaintances. Decedent is survived by two sons, John W. and Manford C. White, both leading farmers of the community, one sister, Mrs. A. J. Sanders, of Pawnee, and three brothers, W. C. Crowder, residing south of the city, Aaron V. Crowder, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Stafford Crowder, of Mt. Auburn, Il. Funeral services were held from Horse Creek Baptist church at ten o’clock Monday morning, conducted by Rev. T. F. Hartman, of Rochester, assisted by Elder A. J. Sanders. Interment was made in Horse Creek cemetery. The pall bearers were Jas. Leonard, C. C. George, Chas. Riddle, Chas. Davis, Chas.
