Obituary of Elizabeth Paget Dearinger - Christian County, Illinois Daily Breeze Taylorville, Illinois Christian County December 27, 1910 Page 1 Columns 4-5 Woman Who Died Here Today Had 201 Direct Descendants; Was Burned Ten Days Ago Mrs. Elizabeth Dearringer, who probably had more descendants living at her death than any other person gone before her, passed away at 10:45 o'clock this morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Elijah P. Walker, on East Stevens street, from the effects of burns received about ten days ago. She had some matches in the pocket of her apron, with which to keep her pipe going, and while sitting too near the stove the matches became ignited from the heat, setting her clothing on fire. Her daughter was out in the yard at their home at the time and before she could get to her side she was severely burned. For several days before her death, the attending physicians had despaired of her recovery. She was a native of Kentucky and at her death was aged 92 years, 11 months and 22 days. She had resided in Illinois 24 years, coming here from Casey county, Ky., soon after the death of her husband, Jacob Dearinger, to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Walker. She lived with them at Rine(?) Mound seven years and in Taylorville 17 years. Mrs. Dearinger is survived by six children, 67 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, making a total of 201 direct descendants. Her children are: James of Casey county, Ky., Thomas of Washington; William of Taylorville; Mrs. Susan Brennan of Taylorville; Mrs. Mattie Johnson of Kentucky and Mrs. Elijah Walker of Taylorville. The funeral services will take place at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church, the pastor of the Free Methodist church at Owaneco, Rev.
