Obituary. . . Danville, IL Robert W. Block, 66, of Danville died at 2:35 a.m. Tueday (Jan. 20, 1987 at Lakeview Medical Center, Danville. Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan 22, at Barrick and Son Guardian Chapel, Danville, the Rev. Gary Motta officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Wed., Jan 21, at the funeral home. Mr. Block was born Nov. 6, 1920, at Broadlands, a son of Jessie and Elsie Long VBlock. He married Mary McKim on Aug. 17, 1940 at Louisville, Ky. She Survives. Also surviving are two sons Rbert Block of Crystal Falls, Mich., and Micheal Block of Mesa, Ariz.; Three Daughters, Martha McDonald of North Haverhill, Vt., Mary Costa of Plymouyth, Mass., and Sharon Walters of Danville; seven grand children; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Joseph Block of merced, Calif. Mr. Block was a railroad worker for 30 years and retired from Danville Industries in 1981. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War ll.
