Obituary. . . Urbana, IL Louise Ray Louise Catherine Ray, 95, of Urbana died at 4 a.m. Friday (May 30, 1997) at Meadowbrook Health Care Center, Urbana. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Methodist Church, 304 S. Race St., Urbana. The Rev. David Alberts and the Rev. Robert Mulligan officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana. Mrs. Ray was born Sept. 22, 1901, at Sidney, Daughter of Samuel and Jacobine Dalh Buddemeier. She married William Dernam Ray on Sept. 22, 1920, at Sidney. He died on July 20, 1968. Surviving is a son, William Ray of Rossville; a daughter Mary Helen Moser of Urbana; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one foster grandson; and three foster great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Mrs. Ray was the Cunninghan Township assessor from 1968 to 1974. she was a lifelong \member of the First Methodist Church in Urbana and former president of the Champaign Home Extension. She was a volunteer at the Champaign County Nursing Home for 15 years and an accomplished pianist.
