Amanda Elizabeth Eakin died at her home east of Pleasant Mound, 27 November,
1905. Amanda E. Maxey, Daughter of Joel & Jane Maxy was born August 8, 1828 east
of Murphysboro, Tennessee. On April 8, 1848 she came to bond County with her
parents, who located on the Hurricane in Pleasant Mound township.  She married
James Eakin on March 1, 1853, who died in the Civil war. To them were born three
sons and two daughters all of whom survive. They are Edward and Lemuel of near
Fairview, Marion of near Pittsburg, Fayette County, Mrs. Mary E. Hocket widow of
the late Williford Hockett of Dudleyville and Mrs. fances Redenbo, Wife of John
Redenbo of Pleasant Mound.  Interment was at Maxey Cemetery.
