JARBIDGE-Peter J.Flanagan was buried today at 2:30 p.m. Short services were held in the Jarbidge Commercial club,at which O.J.VanPELT delivered a very beautiful, though short sermon, and at the end read a message from the miner friends of Flanagan, which was attached to a wreath of flowers on the coffin. The message read somewhat as follows: "May these perfumed petals express what we cannot.Pete goodbye!" A quartet sang a few songs and then the men of the camp accompanied the body about a mile north of town to the graveyard, where after a short ceremony, the body was committed to the ground. The ceremony was very impressive in its simpicity, with the saloons and stores and mines emptied of their inmates-gamblers and tinhorns, miners, merchants, cowboys, teamsters, labores, prospectors and engineers- All in a silent throng gathered to pay tribute to a wandering miner who was at last at rest. The grave itself is in a lonly place on a hillside, with the snowy peak of Jarbidge mountain looking down upon it,and pinnacled cliffs jutting out on the Skyline to ward off the evil spirit of Ja-ha-bich from God's acre.
