She was 73. Viewing hours today will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and funeral service will be 11 a.m. Nov. 23, both at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash., with Rev. Tori Hicks officiating. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. at the Dusty Cemetery. Services entrusted to Bruning Funeral Home, P.O. Box 739, Colfax, WA 99111. Born Jan. 25, 1932, in Diamond, Wash., to Wade and Elizabeth Schierman Logan, Fern attended Diamond and Colfax schools. She married Richard L. Wise in Superior, Mont., on Oct. 8, 1949. Following her husband's discharge from the Air Force in 1955, they farmed for many years between Colfax and Dusty until his death in 1986. Fern moved to Colfax, where she lived until moving to Coeur d'Alene three years ago to be closer to family. She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cards and played bridge in Colfax for over 50 years. She also bowled and was an avid sports fan and liked following the Cougars, Zags and Mariners. She enjoyed painting and listening to music. Fern is survived by her daughter, Cindy Brownell of Coeur d'Alene; son Rick Wise, Cheney, Wash.; grandchildren Beth, Heather, Jason, Peter, Zachary and Thomas; great-grandchildren McKenna, Dakota, Jordan, Anthony, Sunny and Lillianna; and sister Marjorie Lawrence, Soap Lake, Wash. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and two brothers. The family suggests memorials be to the Whitman County Library Foundation, 102 S. Main, Colfax, WA 99111.
