The Rev. Clarence Berkeley of the Lewiston Orchards Church of the Nazerene was the officiant and burial was in Normal Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer Crea, Donal Crea, Robert Crea, Ted Crea, Ben Luehrs, and Lester Wells. Mr. Holes, 78, died Saturday at 3:45 p.m. at St. Joseph's hospital following an illness of 14 months. He had previously suffered a cerebral hemorrage. He was born April 24, 1878 at Alexandria, Nebraska and in 1892 moved to Withrow, Washington. He married Cena Estill at St. Germaine, Washington, March 30, 1907 and the couple moved to the prairie in 1922 where they farmed in the Fenn area. They moved to Lewiston in 1952. In addition to his first wife, he leaves three sons, George and Ray Holes, both of Grangeville, and Frank Holes of Moses Lake; two daughters, Mrs. James Yount of Lewiston and Mary Jo Gilbert of Portland; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel McPhail of Independence, Missouri and Mrs. Florence Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada, and 18 grandchildren.
