Belnap, 97, of Boise, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 1989, in a Boise nursing home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in the Castle Drive LDS Chapel, located at 5900 Castle Drive. Bishop Lyon Steele of the Boise 22nd Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints will officiate. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Belnap was born Sept. 13, 1891, at Wilford, Fremont County, Idaho, the eighth of 13 children of Jesse Lucius Smith and Sarah Helen Walker Smith. She had seven sisters and five brothers, all of whom preceded her in death. She married Everett DeWitt Burlingame on June 30, 1917, at Mt. Emmonds, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on June 26, 1933, in the Canadian LDS Temple. After her marriage, Alice lived in South America for six years while her husband was employed by Braden Copper Co. After leaving South America, they lived in Garfiled, Utah, where he was eployed by the same company. In 1929, they moved to Seattle, living there until Mr. Burlingame's death on Nov. 15, 1939, after which time she moved to Boise. She married Amos Belnap on Jan. 8, 1960, at Idaho Falls. They made their home in Boise, and Mr. Belnap passed away Dec. 22, 1966. For all of her life, Alice was very active in the LDS Chruch, and had worked in the Primary and Young Women's organizations for many years. She enjoyed working with the youth. She loved young people very much, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren from both the Burlingame and Belnap families. For many years, she was employed by the Idaho Mutual Benefit Association and Old West Life Insurance companies. Alice was a very caring person, and had many close friends wherever she lived. Survivors include a son, DeWitt C. Burlingame of Boise: five grandchildren: and 12 great-grandchildren. From the Belnap family, survivors include a step-son, Amos Kay Belnap Jr. Of Boise; two stepdaughters, Tyra Lou Titmus, and Allabel Castle of Boise; 13 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
