	Vern H. Mauch, 68, of Castana died Sunday, January 15, 1989, at his 
home.
	Mr. Mauch was born November 15, 1920, in Ute to George and Emma 
(Miller) Mauch, Sr.  He married Evve Greenough June 10, 1942, at Dakota City.  
	
	Survivors include his wife, five sons, Jimmie, of Soldier, Ronald, 
Jerry and Daniel “Whitey,” all of Castana, and Rusty of Sioux City, two 
daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Dorothy) Hale of Des Moines and Mrs. Warren (Linda) Kamm 
of Van Meter; three brothers, Edward, Jr. and Orvel, both of Fort Dodge and 
Floyd, Sr. of Castana, three sisters, Hilda Crosgrove of Pittsburg, Calif., 
Elaine Peters of Battle Creek and Faye Jones of Fort Dodge, seventeen 
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Vernon, Jr. and a 
brother, Marvin.
