OBITUARY: Carleton LeRoy Harms, 1941-2005, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Original version posted Jan. 4, 2006 on www.mcpress.com] Carleton LeRoy Harms Funeral Services for Carleton LeRoy Harms, age 64, of Scott City, Kansas, and formerly of Osage, Iowa, were held at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, Kansas, on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls officiating. Interment was in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, Kansas. Carleton passed away at his home in Scott City, Kansas on Friday, December 23, 2005. He was born on January 23, 1941 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Harry and Mary (Barger) Harms. On October 21, 1961 he married Karen Kay Hatch in Nashua, Iowa. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1989, moving from Osage, Iowa, he was a mechanic and a truck driver for Roto Mix in Scott City, Kansas. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Gladbrook, Iowa and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his Father and a grandson, Lane Harms. Carleton is survived by his wife Karen Kay Harms of Scott City, three sons: Christian Harms of Lakin, Kansas, Wayne Harms of Wamego, Kansas, and Roy Harms of Scott City, Kansas; two daughters: Renee Nerad of Osage and Renata Rogers also of Osage; his mother Mary Dahms of Gladbrook, Iowa; a sister Sharon Hatch of Beaman; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
