OBITUARY: Lawrence Adolph Olsen, 1892-1973, Mitchell County, Iowa Lawrence Adolph Olsen Funeral services for a Rock Creek resident, Lawrence A. Olsen, 81, who died December 6, 1973 were held Saturday afternoon. He died at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Rev. Paul Metzger, church pastor, was in charge of the rites at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery. Arrangements were by C.R. Champion and Sons. Lawrence Adolph Olsen was born November 30, 1892, the son of Lars Iver and Anna Regina Larson Olsen. He was baptized at Rock Creek Lutheran Church January 22, 1893 and confirmed there on June 14, 1908. He received his education in the rural schools and at the St. Ansgar seminary. Lawrence Olsen and Clarice Williams were united in marriage on September 1, 1921. They established their home at Meroa and continued to farm there. He was a lifelong member of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Clyndon (Beatrice) Gast; two sons, Lowell and LaVerne, all of Osage; fifteen grandchildren and one sister, Clara Olsen of Osage, Preceding him in death were his wife, his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
