OBITUARY: Tilda `Tillie' G. (Johnson) Weseman, 1909-1996, Mitchell Co., Iowa [From Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, Dec. 5, 1996 (edited)] Tilda `Tillie' G. Weseman CARPENTER, IOWA--Tilda `Tillie' G. Weseman, 87, of Carpenter, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1996, at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 99-11th St. S., Northwood, with the Rev. Kathryn E. Larson of Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in Vinje. Tilda "Tillie" G. Weseman was born Jan. 22, 1909, in Winnebago County, Iowa, in rural Vinje, the daughter of Theodore and Gunda (Erickson) Johnson. She was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Vinje. She attended and received her education in the rural Winnebago County School System. She was united in marriage to Robert Weseman in Fairmont, Minn. He preceded her in death in 1966. Throughout her life, she was considered by her many nieces and nephews as a great second mother, who also raised and cared for a niece, Betty Ann Simmons. Survivors include two sisters, Elnora Elwood of Algona, and Edith Neuman of Lakota; one sister-in-law, Pearl Johnson, Rochester, Minn.; as well as many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
