OBITUARY: Alvin Alfred Petznick, 1913-1981, Mitchell County, Iowa [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 15 OCT 1981] Alvin A. Petznick Funeral Held At Immanuel Lutheran Funeral services for Alvin A. Petznick, 67, who died at the Mitchell County Care Facility October 5, were held October 8 at the Immanuel Lutheran church here with the Rev. Norman E. Betke officiating. Alvin Alfred Petznick, son of Fred and Helena A.C. (Viergutz) Petznick, was born November 7, 1913 in Barton township, Worth county. He was baptized December 7, 1913 at the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Grafton by the Rev. John Landeck. He attended and graduated from the Country school in Worth county. He was confirmed in the Emmanuel Lutheran church, Grafton, March 24, 1929 by the Rev. Carl Landeck. January 28, 1934, he married Gertrude Koschmeder. Two children were born to them. Mr. Petznick became a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar in 1936 and remained a faithful member. For the past 20 years he had been a resident at the Mitchell County Care Facility. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; one son, Glen, rural Lyle; two grandsons, Randy and Brian; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Ruth) Dalluge of Grafton, Mrs. Ed (Evelyn) Taylor of Torrance, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) Terrill of Beloit, Wis.; also nieces and nephews. Mr. Petznick was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, and a brother, Reuben. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Betke in charge of committal services.
