OBITUARY: Andrew Jackson Wilder, Mitchell County, Iowa [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 20 SEP 1979 -- www.rootsweb.com/~iamitche archives ] Andrew Jackson Wilder [1905-1979] Andrew J. Wilder Funeral Services Held September 13 Funeral services for Andrew (Jack) Wilder, 74, who died September 10 at the Good Samaritan Center, were held September 13 at the Schroeder Funeral Home here with the Rev. Gaylord Grant of Lyle officiating. Andrew Jackson Wilder was born April 22, 1905 in Mitchell county, the son of Elmer and Ethen (Van Camp) Wilder. He attended school in Otranto, and married Elmira Smith February 13, 1930. They lived in the Otranto area where he farmed and did carpentry work until a stroke forced them to move to St. Ansgar a few years ago. He had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center here the past three years. Mr. Wilder is survived by his former wife, Elmira; four sons, Doyle of Lyle, Roger of St. Ansgar, Marlin of Sugar Grove, Ill. and Donald of Baudette, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Darwin (Janine) Neuman of St. Ansgar and Joan of St. Ansgar; 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Archie (Gwendolyn) Pike of Lyle and Mrs. Callie Anderson of Cedar Falls; one brother, Lee, of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marshall; one sister, Lois LaBee and one son, Laurel. Burial was in Woodbury cemetery, Lyle, with Rev.
