	Bennett Hanson, a life-long resident of Monona county, was the son of 
the late Ole L. Hanson and Agnetta Peterson.  He was born February 11, 1885 in 
Crawford county, Iowa.  He passed away October 8, 1952 at 8:45 a.m. at his 
home in Soldier.
	On February 24, 1909 he was united in marriage to Emma Halverson at 
the Lutheran parsonage by the Rev. G. H. Bakken.
	Survivors include his wife, Emma, four sons and one daughter, Marion 
of Oakland, Calif., Voyle of Marlboro, Mass., Milfred of Soldier, Norman of 
Ute, and Mrs. Vivian Sogn of Sioux City; two brothers, Hans of Sioux City and 
George of Oakland, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Mary Spreng of Denison; two half-
sisters, Mrs. Ella Tollufson of Soldier and Mrs. Alma Rowland of Onawa, and 12 
grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Martha and two 
brothers, Alfred and Olaf, and a half brother, Oscar.
