C. Thomas The Twiggs County Cutizen 3-28-1918 Front Page Mr. J.C. Thomas Passes after Short Illness On last Friday morning March 22, at 5 o'clock at his home three miles from Jeffersonville, Mr. J.C. Thomas, a well known planter of this county, died after an illness of only a few hours. Mr. Thomas was reared in South Carolina and has resided in this county several years. He was 67 years of age, a consistant member of the Methodist church, a Royal Arch Mason, and a K of P. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. M.W. Tucker, of Lineville, S.C., Mrs. G.A. Tucker of Calhoun Falls, S.C. ; Mrs. B.H. Martin of McCommack, S.C. and Miss Louise Thomas of Jeffersonville GA. Also six sons, G.D. Thomas of Lineville, S.C.; J.B. Thomas of Camp Sevier S.C; R.F., Eliott, Henry and Dean Thomas of Jeffersonville, GA. The remains were brought to Jeffersonville Sunday morning and funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock at the Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. I.E. Brady. After the services, the members of the Twiggs Lodge No 164, of which the deceased was a loyal and honored members took charge and lowered the remains to their final resting place in the City cemetery.
